We traced Napoleon's career from the Italian campaign of 1798 to his exile and death on St. Helena.
Students took a practice quiz over the French Revolution. We began discussing the career of Napoleon.
We discussed events of the Revolution today, covering the years 1790-91. Students worked on a map of foreign attacks on France. We then discussed the trials and deaths of Louis XVI and his family. We watched a bit more of Marie Antoinette, probably the last bits we'll watch during class. Be prepared for a simple quiz over Chapter 7 soon.
Students took a quest over Chapter 6 The Enlightenment today. We then continued watching Marie Antoinette.
We began our study of the French Revolution by learning a bit about the Ancien Regime, French society before the Revolution. We are watching portions of a film, Marie Antoinette, this week, in order to understand more clearly the vast gulf separating the lifestyle at Versailles from that of most of France in the late 18th century.
We reviewed Chapter 6 in preparation for the Quest on Thursday. Begin reading Chapter 7 about the French Revolution this week. We will begin our study of it on Tuesday.
